We hope participants will be able to gain sponsorship for their Voice Award entry from family, friends and colleagues to raise funds for the Mouth Cancer Foundation, however, this is not essential as the aim is simply to raise awareness.

Gift Aid
Making your money go further
Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, the charity you are supporting will receive an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further. This means that £10 can be turned into £12.80 just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make, and it doesn’t cost you a thing.

Fundraising Tips
Participation in the Mouth Cancer Voice Awards is about raising awareness of mouth cancer. And, whilst there is no minimum sponsorship requirement to participate in the event, there also is no maximum – the sky really is the limit!
At the very beginning we recommend that you set yourself a target of how much you are hoping to raise in sponsorship as this can help you to focus on your fundraising efforts. By following the steps below, you may even find yourself exceeding your fundraising target before too long!
Think about who you could ask to help you in your fundraising activities and decide when best to set about enlisting their support.
Make a list of potential sponsors - include relatives, friends, neighbors, sports and social club members, school / college friends, colleagues, business contacts etc – and decide when to approach them.
Keep accurate records for yourself and your chosen beneficiary. Record all monies received on your sponsorship form, together with details of who made the donation and when.
And don’t forget before you start fundraising to ask whether your chosen beneficiary is eligible to receive tax relief on sponsorship donations as this can really boost the amount raised.
By being original and planning ahead, fundraising can be really rewarding and enjoyable!
